Away longer then expected

Hi all.

I have been away longer then expected due too the traffic accident I had end of July. So on one of the last days of 2007 I wanted to leave a quick blog entry that I am still recovering from the accident. Also I am in the process of moving, so there is not a lot of time left for blogging and Stealframe for that matter.

But all will go better in 2008. Because of the moving I will be disconnected from the internet at least six to eight weeks. So I will be back somewhere in February 2008. And that will be the year you will hear more from Stealframe and Stealframe Europe.

I wish everyone a happy new year and may all your dreams come true in 2008!

Accidents do happen....

And again it's been a while. A short update: I have been busy trying to finish up my education and get my projects ready for my final exams. But then end of July I got into a traffic accident and got hit by a car, which resulted in a broken leg with a multiple fracture.

I have been in the hospital and now I am recovering and slowly learn how to walk again. This will take some time, at least until the end of October. So no graduation for me in September :-(.

I hope the healing process will speed up a little bit, cause I am done walking with those crutches...

On line again....

Allrighty....there goes the promise of keeping up with the blog this time around. For, stupid me, I had to change my internet connection to a newer, faster (and cheaper) subscription. And of course I thought everything would go like a breeze. Well, think again.

The technical connection was on time and they flipped the switch on the promised date. But..... they forgot to start sending me the modem on time, so I had a brand new adsl2 connection waiting for me, but no adsl2 modem to connect to it.

Well, today finally the modem was waiting for me on the stair case when I got home. And yes, we are on line again. So while Michael Warren is singing in my ears, I am quickly typing up this blog to let you know why I was away that long.

So again, let's try to keep the blogging up.

Two minute silence in The Netherlands: remembering those who have fallen

This evening at 20:00 hours we have remembered all who have lost their lives during World War Two, being it soldiers, members of resistance or civilians, and all who have lost their lives since. It is the 4th of May. This is our Remembrance Day.

Since the end of World War Two the Dutch have been honouring the victims of war. At eight o'clock in the evening the country unites in commemorating the civilians and members of the armed forces who lost their lives in the Second World War. People all over the country gather at war memorials in their own communities, and at the stroke of eight the entire country observes a two minute silence.

In Amsterdam a national ceremony is held. After the two minute silence wreaths are laid. With the laying of wreaths we remember the civilians who died in Europe in 1940-1945: one for members of the Resistance, one for victims of persecution, and one for civilian casualties.

The ceremony is attended by Her Majesty the Queen, members of parliament and people from more than 100 organisations representing the different groups in society who were affected by the war.

Tomorrow, the 5th of May, we celebrate the country's liberation from five years of occupation from the Germans. This is our Liberation Day.

The attention for Remembrance Day is gradually fading. In having these ceremonies every year on 4 and 5 May, the entire country unites to observe a day of remembrance followed by a day of celebration. This should be a constant reminder of the fragility of civilisation and democracy.

For what is your most prized posession. It is not in materials, but in the fact that you have freedom, you are able to say and write what you want without being prosecuted, tortured or executed.

Let us not forget. And yet, mankind makes the same mistakes all over again. Even after the horrors of World War Two...

Loooonggg time....

It has been a long time since I have been able to put up a new post here. In the mean time a lot has happened, so let me give you a very short update.

Education
As you can read in my previous post, I am studying at the College of Multimedia in Amsterdam where I am taking the course MultiMedia Engineer, the education for web- and interaction-design. This is and has been taking up most of my free time. If all is well, I will be done by September.

StealFrame
You could also read that I was involved in BlackMylar Europe. BlackMylar became StealFrame and consequently BlackMylar Europe became StealFrame Europe. This was in january 2006 and all future StealFrame and StealFrame Europe posts would go on a new website. Writing for BlackMylar Europe and StealFrame Europe took up a lot of my time alongside my job and the education. So I didn't have time to update this blog.

That was why.

Unfortunately due to technical and other problems the StealFrame website does not excist anymore. With these problems, a lot of the posts disappeared too. We hope to recover some of the StealFrame Europe posts. If we do, I will let you know right here.

StealFrame is now located at MySpace as long as the new website isn't finished. You will find StealFrame at www.myspace.com/stealframe.

Pasquinel and MySpace
Since StealFrame is on MySpace, I have decided to go to MySpace too. The majority of the old BlackMylar Europe posts and in some time the StealFrame Europe posts can be found on my MySpace page. On this page I will put up my personal posts that will also appear here on Pasquinel's Place. All current and future posts on StealFrame you can find at www.myspace.com/stealframe.

So there you have in short what I have been up to and where you can find all the materials and blogs. If all goes well, from now on there will be regular posts again.
